The Official Baker School Algorithm for Making a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich

BY: Denbaa and Daniel K. (combined)
With modifications by Mr. Welch and the Baker School 6th grade

IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO SUGGEST A CHANGE TO THE ALGORITHM, POST A COMMENT AND I WILL CONSIDER YOUR SUGGESTION.

1. Take a jar of peanut butter, a jar of jelly, a knife, two slices of bread, and a plate. Make sure there is enough peanut butter and jelly in the jars for a big scoop from each.

2. Place the two slices of bread side-by-side on the plate.

3. Open the jar of peanut butter and, using the knife, scoop out some peanut butter.

4. Take the knife with peanut butter on it in one hand, and the first slice of bread in the other.

5. Using the kinfe, spread a layer of peanut butter along the top side of the slice of bread. Do not spread the peanut butter onto the crust!

6. Put the slice of bread with peanut butter on the plate with the peanut butter facing up.

7. Open the jar of jelly, and using the knife scoop out some jelly. Hold the knife in one hand while holding the second slice of bread in the other.

8. Spread a layer of jelly on the top side of the slice of bread and put down the slice of bread with the jelly side up. Do not spread the jelly onto the crust!

9. Put the knife down and close the jars' lids.

10. Take a slice of bread in each hand and join together the two pieces with the peanut butter and jelly sides facing each other.

11. Congratulations on your completed sandwich. Enjoy!

Inaugural Extra Credit

THE CORRRECT ANSWER: June 23rd, 1981.

Can you figure out Mr. Welch's birthday based on the clues below?

- I was born in the month named after the Roman goddess of marrriage. She is the wife of Jupiter and mother of Mars.

- I was born on a day that is a prime number. It is the penultimate (second-to-last) prime number of the month.

- I was born in the 20th century.
- If you add the last two digits of my year of birth you get the second digit of my year of birth.
- I was born after the relase of Jaws, but before the release of Ghostbusters.

To get extra credit, you need to show your work - how did you figure it out?
